The small but picturesque humped back bridge at Ashness is surrounded by some superb views of Derwentwater. The bridge, which crosses Barrow Beck, can be reached via an extremely narrow winding road which is littered with cattle grids. Upstream from the bridge, on Ashness Gill there is a dramatic waterfall.
